Prairie Dogs

Here are just two of the hundreds if not thousands of prarie dogs between base and our home. When I go to work; I see hundreds a long the road. There is a Chief at work that shoots them during hunting season just to keep the population down between 1 May and sometime during the end of the year. He also hunts coyotes and gets paid for each coyote that he kills. I don't have any pictures of coyotes and these dogs in the pics are safe from the Chief.

Awww... they ARE cute! But as a Denver native and a gardener, I know they can also be everywhere! Especially when you don't want them to be. Wish we could talk "praire dog" and explain to them the necessity of living out on the....praire! In their defense, I think our suburbs have rather encroached a bit on their territory. Thanks for the really cute pics!!! Linda
