The Park View Ward held its Pinewood Derby which turned out to be a lot of fun. There were three different "classes" of cars; cubscouts only, ward members using scout rules and then the open unlimited class (no rules other than the car could not interfer with the other car car on the track). Jacob did the best in our family winning his first two races but then lost his second two races. It was double elimination and his fourth race was so close that they ran it a second time and switched the cars on the track just to make sure. Jacob's car is the blue car, Thomas' car is the silver which makes the black truck mine. I've included some pictures for your viewing pleasure:
Pic 1 - All three cars at home
Pic 2 - All three cars at home different view
Pic 3 - Jacob's first win
Pic 4 - Working in the "pit area" prior to the races starting (adding weight)
Pic 5 - Jacob's car at the starting point
Charlene helped with keeping the brackets in order and Thomas worked at the starting line for the cub scouts' races. Thomas and I did not do so well on the speed aspect of our cars so we were eliminated after our first race.

Looks like you guys had fun making them. That was some of my best memories, with my dad making my car. love and miss you guys. tell everyone that we love them.
